Tabs add lift too and also allow best use of a deep vee to soften the ride in chop. Tabs like most with a plate activited by a ram or electric motor (which I have) dont slow the boat and use more fuel which the other type do. WebAug 16, 2024 · Start by centering the hydrofoil on top of the cavitation plate. Then move it forward until it cannot move again. You may also place it in the rear of a trim tab so that you would not have to drill. Make four holes markings as on the hydrofoil, remove it, and drill your holes. Use the Site gauge to ensure proper placement.

May lose a bit of top end speed due to extra drag from hydrofoil but then the trim tabs are not down and the boat isn't pounding so maybe not.
