Everything went smoothly but I noticed that the new idler pulley seems too tight to spin freely. The old idler pulley spins freely while bolted to engine. The new idler pulley seems extremely tight when it's bolted to the engine. It definitely will not spin freely.

Web30 Mar 2024 · Pulled on the tensioner and VOILA!...the belt slipped right onto the alternator pulley. Released the tensioner again so could move the alternator to line up and install the lower bolt, then tightened the upper bolt. Wish I had done this before struggly for gawd knows how long.. You need to loosen the mounting nut located on the front of engine, then tighten the 12mm adjusting bolt. Again, I would recommend replacing the belt before tightening it anymore.
