Search around Chevy Hot Rod forums, if you want better heads sell the Vortecs and buy some AFR Aluminum heads. WebJan 13, 2015 · I'm assuming we're talking about the L31, 5.7 (non LS) Vortec in this thread. Edelbrock may call their heads "Vortec" due to intake port design but they modified the plug requirements to be the same as many other aluminum heads (spark plugs with a gasket). I use AC 41-993 tapered seat plugs in my 1997, 5.7 Vortec small block.
