WebMay 19, 2015 · I had the same problem on my '09 F800GS. The air temp had to be showing on the dash as 35 deg C or more and had to have around 6 or 7 litres of fuel left. Then it would cut out, a lot!! Fill the tank, and then no problem. I replaced the fuel pump controller which wasn't cheap, but no joy. Anyway, I fitted a secondhand pump and no probs since. WebJun 22, 2024 · I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is PWM controlled so you would need a oscilloscope to see 12~14.5v. The ECU would send a signal to tell the controller what duty cycle to run the fuel pump. I will look at the wiring diagram when I get time.
WebMy SV had similar issues, turned out to be the fuel filter that sits in with the pump. after sitting for a while the filter would allow some gas to pass through, but after riding for a while would clog back up again. First, I don't think this is the problem because FPC failure does not activate the low fuel light. Secondly, by 2009 I think the failure prone silver FPC was replaced with the more reliable black FPC.
